Erdington workshops with Jaskirt Dhaliwal-Boora

People living in Erdington and the local area are invited to join Birmingham-born artist Jaskirt Dhaliwal-Boora for a series of free photo-walks and workshops in and around Erdington High Street and Rookery Park.

Exploring our personal stories and experiences of mental health in green spaces, the sessions include photography, walking and writing to create our own artworks.

Following the workshops, participants can also choose to have their portrait taken by the artist in green spaces that are important to them. The photographs will be exhibited at Ikon Gallery in June 2024, alongside participants’ artwork.

No previous experience of photography needed. All materials provided. Walks will vary in length, up to 45 minutes, and will include regular stops. Please wear suitable warm clothing and footwear for urban walking.

This project is a collaboration between Ikon and Living Well Consortium, aiming to raise awareness of, and engagement with, topics centred on mental health and wellbeing. A support worker from Living Well Consortium will join each photo walk.
