Tymoteusz Jozwiak Quartet with Marek Pospieszalski
Originally from Poland, Tymoteusz Jozwiak is a drummer who studied jazz at the Birmingham Conservatoire and is now a key member of the Birmingham music scene. For this project he performs with double bass player Olie Brice and saxophonist Paul Dunmall from the UK and special guest Marek Pospieszalski from Poland. Jozwiak writes of this group:
This quartet brings together some of my favourite musicians from the European scene for a special evening of improvised music. I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Dunmall (Awoto, Unmasked , One Became Many) and Olie Brice (Nick of Time) in various lineups, both on stage and in the studio. I first met Marek Pospieszalski during the International Jazz Platform at the Klub Wytwórnia in Łódź. Since then I’ve heard his playing on numerous projects (Marek Pospieszalski Quartet, Maledivy, Polish Composers of the 20th Century). We’ve never worked together before and I am very excited about him joining the quartet.
Organised by Centrala and TDE Promotions.
This event is part of The Migrant Festival 2022 and Ikon’s Arrivals programme for Summer 2022, concerned with the international movement of people and ideas and organised to coincide with the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
