Eastside Arts Picnic
As part of Artsfest, Ikon collaborated with Vivid, 7inch cinema, Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, Capsule and Craftspace Touring to present a picnic involving a programme of delightful activities such as a digital coconut shy, table tennis, maritime storytelling, Thai massage, origami and a knitting tea party. Members of the public were invited to bring food, drinks and blankets to while away the afternoon in the company of the artists including Johnny White, Captain Ed, Peter Liversidge, Sir Real, Jacques Nimki, Surasi Kusolwong, DJ La Culpable with Simon & Tom Bloor, Stitches and Hoh, plus highlights from the Mitchell and Kenyon Collection, a treasure-trove of historic films, recently restored by the British Film Institute.
The Eastside Arts Picnic was kindly supported by Arts Council England, West Midlands and Urban Fusion.
