Family Saturday
Families are invited to learn the basics of screen printing with artist and printmaker Laura Onions and Gathering Press, her fully-equipped, roving print studio designed to “open temporary messy and creative spaces”.
Have your ink and squeegee at the ready to print an original poster, t-shirt or tote bag. Choose from a range of designs, or create an experimental ‘open-screen’ print, where ink is painted or marbled directly through the screen.
Paper is provided – please bring your own t-shirt or tote bag to print onto and customise (1 per family).
Laura Onions is one of eight printmakers who operate an antique, working flatbed printing press from Wolverhampton School of Art as part of Ikon’s exhibition Start the Press!
