Family Saturday
Artist Daya Bhatti leads a creative session for all ages exploring pattern and geometric art, using collage and mixed media techniques, inspired by Ikon’s current exhibition by Mahtab Hussain.
As part of his show, What Did You Want To See?, Hussain examines the architecture of Birmingham’s mosques and presents a prayer room space, enclosed by intricate, gold jaali screens and including with decorated prayer rugs.
This exhibition is commissioned by Ikon and Photoworks and is supported by the John Feeney Charitable Trust and Freelands Foundation.
Family Saturday takes place on the first Saturday of every month – join us for a drop-in creative activity, led by a local artist. Open to all ages. Please consider making a donation for this free activity.
