Set the table for A Real Birmingham Family

Join artists Clayground Collective to make your favourite mealtime settings in clay to place before Gillian Wearing’s sculpture, A Real Birmingham Family.

Settings will be decorated with clay dug from the Saltwells “marl hole” or clay pit, a historic source of clay for fine china producer Doulton. Brought from Saltwells to Birmingham with Ikon’s Black Country Voyages this event is a part of Clayground’s Clay Cargo 2013-2015, renewing historic links between ceramics and the canal system in London, Birmingham and Stoke-on-Trent.

This event forms part of the national Family Arts Festival.
