Family Saturday
Families are invited to design and create a costume worthy of The King himself! Join us to use sequins, gems and glitter to recreate some of Elvis Presley’s greatest show-stopping outfits.
The elaborate jumpsuits, scarves and capes designed for Elvis are works of art themselves. Dion Kitson’s work Take Back Control (2024) is part of his Ikon exhibition, Rue Britannia, and is inspired by the sequins, tassels and gemstones of these outfits, reimagining them as a reclining ‘Lazy Boy’ armchair.
This workshop is led by artist Madeleine Staples, with a guest appearance from the West Midlands’ very own Yam Yam Elvis, who gives an exclusive performance at Ikon, during which families are encouraged to join in the fun, sing and dance along!
