Le Corbusier’s Dream of Machines – Sold out
This event is sold out
An evening of live music curated by Leon Trimble, a digital artist who works in audio visual performance, responding to the film zone in Ikon’s First Floor Galleries.
The evening culminates with a live re-score of the film BRUTAL (2022) by NT – a new commission by Ikon – and includes a performance by Otis Mensah, former Poet Laureate of Sheffield, an alternative hip-hop and spoken word artist. This event is organised to coincide with Ikon’s exhibition Horror in the Modernist Block.
Horror in the Modernist Block is supported by Fluxus Art Projects, Embassy of the Netherlands, Freelands Foundation, Italian Cultural Institute and The Modern Institute.
About the artist
Leon Trimble specialises in immersive video and synth design. He owns a 360-degree projection dome with a surround speaker array and runs it as a venue at English summer festivals with an exciting programme of music and visual artists. Trimble recently completed a MMus Experimental Performance degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where he is a visiting tutor and also lectures at BIMM Manchester. Trimble explores the brutalist architectural space as performance arena and contrasts them, in his other work, to early megalithic structures.
