Showcase: IYP Glassworks
Join us on Slow Boat for a showcase of glass artworks by Ikon Youth Programme (IYP), in collaboration with artists Morgan Stockton and Yhonnie Scarce. Moored up near Chance Glassworks, Slow Boat acts as a temporary home for these works, produced by IYP in the hot glass workshop at Wolverhampton School of Art.
Slow Boat is supported by Freelands Foundation.
Location
Slow Boat will be moored up on the Birmingham Canal opposite the Chance Glassworks site. This is accessible via the canal cycleway entrance next to Spring Road Industrial Estate.
Additional Access Information
This path is on an incline with overlapping barriers. It may not be suitable for all wheelchairs/mobility scooters. The measurement of the spacing between the barriers is 184cm. These barriers reduce the path width to 100cm.
Directions from Smethwick Galton Bridge Railway Station
From the station, face right, follow Oldbury Road until you get to the roundabout. Keep right at the roundabout, and follow Spon Lane South, until you reach the cycleway at the other side of the bridge, just before Spring Road Industrial Estate. Approx 12 minute walk. Google Maps.
