Adam Chodzko is known as an artist who plays detective and catalyst, seeking out participants for his work through classified advertisements or posters. Bizarre questions such as ‘Do you think you look like God?’ and ‘What does heaven look like?’ often form the starting point for his work. A Place for The End was a new commission made in collaboration with a group of Birmingham residents, plotting endings for an imaginary film in different locations around the city, which is identified through a series of plaques, a film and photography. Also, on show is The International God Look-Alike Contest, an intriguing mixture of images from people all over the world who think they look like God, Night Vision which attempts to make ‘heaven’ from darkness and Reunion; Salò which creates a resurrection of ‘murdered’ adolescents from a 1975 Pasolini film are also exhibited here.
