On the evening of 26 March 2000, Cornelia Parker’s spectacular fireworks display was launched from the roof of Birmingham’s landmark Rotunda building. The pyrotechnic mixture included a pulverised meteorite producing a dazzling meteorite shower. To mark the fourth anniversary, in 2004, two plaques were installed in the vicinity of St Martin’s church in the BullRing bearing the following inscription:
A meteorite fell in Natan, China in 1516. 484 years later on the night of 26th March 2000 it fell from the skies again landing in Birmingham’s BullRing.
