Ikon presents new Arts Council funded commissions by artists, Sutapa Biswas, Tanya Mahboob Syed as well as work by Maya Chowdry, Alnoor Dewshi, Gitanjali, Khaled Hakim, Indi Krishnan, Shaheen Merali, Shani Mootoo, Meena Nanji, Sher Rajah and Alia Syed. 

Beyond Destination is about journeying where the journeys made were both mental and geographic. In this exhibition, city nomads are caught up in a surreal adventure; a woman’s walk up a snowy mountain lead to startling encounters; a local take-away becomes the scene of brief chance meetings. Arrival at a fixed destination is never the object. Instead, the artists sought a creative way of living in flux, in the dynamic spaces between lands or cultures.
