This exhibition asks, ‘what does it mean to be European?’ The trade barriers are falling and the European Union is hotly debated. Ethnic conflicts following the collapse of the Eastern bloc dominates the headlines. The question of national identity is a potent issue, which is explored in In Fusion through painting, sculpture, photo media and installation. This exhibition presents work by eleven artists who, live and practise in Europe, but whose cultural roots lie elsewhere. None of the artists were chosen to represent any nation or specific ethnicity. Rather they show the importance of recognising visual culture as open, plural and heterogenous.  

Artists include: Ben Bella, Carlos Capelán, Benni Efrat, Chohreh Fedzyjou, Claudio Gulart, Ibrahima M’Bengue, Ying Liang, Lea Lublin, Flavio Pons, Felix de Rooy and Ohannes Tapyuli.
