Ikon presents solo exhibition of the work of Clement Cooper, presenting a series of aspiring, poignant and challenging portraits of youth produced over a three-year period in Birmingham, Manchester and Preston. Twelve large-scale black and white photographs of children explore the differences that exist between generations. Cooper presents ambiguous images, which asks us to confront romantic stereotypes of the child. Investigating beauty, innocence and vulnerability, the exhibition invited us to question our own transition from child to adult.
