Quinton International involved exhibiting artist Ian Davenport working with 60 children from Year 6, Woodhouse Primary School, Quinton, Birmingham during his exhibition at Ikon. Together they explored ways to make abstract artwork with household paints, without using a paint brush!
Eight final pieces of work produced by the children were selected and printed up into 8,000 sets of postcards which were launched at the private view of the children’s work at Ikon. This exhibition then toured to the art gallery at the Quinzone Education Action Zone where Ikon’s Director opened the exhibition.
The project was funded by the Baring Foundation, the Ernest Cook Trust and Quinzone Education Action Zone.
