Throughout Ikon Gallery 

Artist Jacques Nimki works within urban environments, using weeds and wild flowers to examine multiple ideas that focus on the unseen and how this affects what we expect to find within any environment at any given time.

For the past 12 months, Nimki has been in residence at Ikon, studying the quality of light appearing and disappearing on a variety of surfaces, whilst exploring the boundaries between public and private space especially with respect to the gallery environment. His research has included a series of workshops and tours with Ikon visitors, staff, patrons and local office workers.

The project has culminated in a permanent installation throughout the gallery building. More than 300 barely visible works reference plant drawings made by participants and others installed in their homes. Many unseen and others never to be seen.
