Mixing Hollywood classics, advertising, Orientalist paintings and television footage of the Gulf War, The garden of A… explores the West’s fascination with the East. 

The installation uses video, computer technology and sound to reveal a mythological Orient seen through western eyes. This imaginary place, reproduced in both historical and contemporary imagery, aims to satisfy a desire for exploration, exoticism and the taming of ‘savage enemies.
