The Subjective City questioned the values which have influenced the construction of our cities. Great slabs of concrete and masonry – manifestations of both greed and ambition – were predominant images in many of the paintings and wall – works in this exhibition. In other pieces, it was people who had an overwhelming presence – fighters in a bar, figures in anonymous places, crowds in a street – representing the experiences of contemporary urban life.
This was a Cleveland Gallery Touring Exhibition.
