White Noise brings together artists who use music to raise challenging issues. The work reflects their interest in a diversity of musical traditions, from soul and gospel music to folk songs. Each installation has sound as a key element, and the exhibition looks at the role that music can have as a force for change.  

Curated by Donald Rodney, White Noise is part of Ikon’s contribution to the Sounds Like Birmingham festival which celebrated Birmingham’s designation as City of Music.
