Calling all Craft Makers…

Winter Craft Market
Thursday 15 November, 5.30 — 8.30pm

With the days drawing darker and the application for stall-holders deadline soon approaching, we are in full swing with preparations for this year’s Winter Craft Market. Following the success of last year, we will be hosting the event in our first floor gallery meaning more space for more makers!

Providing a stunning backdrop is an exhibition by internationally renowned New York-based artist Polly Apfelbaum, Waiting for the UFOs (a space set between a landscape and a bunch of flowers).  Alongside large-scale colourful installations of textile and ceramics, The Diskery will be playing a selection of their eclectic collection, with the opportunity to buy from their vinyl collection too.

The Winter Craft Market will showcase a selection of bespoke and handmade products by artists, designers and crafters from across the West Midlands. This event is a great opportunity to show and sell your work, meeting local makers based in the Midlands while finding the perfect festive gifts for friends and family. If you are a maker and would like to apply to be a stall holder, click here for an application form. Deadline for applications is 30 September, 6pm – so be quick!

During this evening, Ikon also hosts panel discussion Creative Conversations with Female Poets, in Yorks Café from 5.30-7.30pm. This will explore the historic and contemporary relationship between feminist poetics and politics. This event is free; tickets are available to book online here.
