Migrant Festival 2022

Thank you to every visitor, artist, partner and presenter who joined us over the past few days and made The Migrant Festival possible.

We’ve enjoyed artist’s talks, music performances, film screenings and family workshops. The festival celebrated the contribution made by refugees and migrants to Birmingham and the UK, and highlighted the migrant stories of artists in Ikon’s programme, including Abdulrazaq Awofeso and Osman Yousefzada.

Here are some of the many highlights.

Artist’s Talk with Hew Locke and Dr Gus Casely-Hayford followed by a concert with musician Germa Adan at Birmingham Cathedral.

Artist’s Talk with Abdulrazaq Awofeso and Dr Jareh Das followed by a set from DJ Lola So.

Family flag making workshop with artist Jane Thakoordin.

Soapboxes, chaired by Salman Mirza, Migrant Voice.
